Is the Blue Yeti X the best microphone for podcasting?
Its Blue Yeti X is its current flagship model, built for the modern age of podcasting and video streaming, with some visual flair to go along with its stunning sound. I've been using the Blue Yeti X and Blue's Compass mount for all of my podcasting and streaming needs across the past week, and here's why it's now my favorite mic setup of all time.

So for your ghost story podcast the "basement sound" might be ideal. In most other cases, not so much. ‘The Blue Yeti in particular, in spite of its sexy switches and cardioid pattern option, is “roomy” sounding, not what you want for distraction free and intimate sounding audio. Being able to switch the pickup pattern helps a little, not a lot.
Will a blue yeti work in my studio?

Finally, the bottom of the Blue Yetti contains the USB port and the headphone jack. Like most podcasters, a usb microphone was a must for me because I knew I’d be using it for online interviews and recordings.
Would I buy it again?
I am in no way a technical expert when it comes to microphones. Thus far, I’ve had a pretty good experience with the Blue Yeti and the built in gain and pattern knobs have helped my understanding of recording in general. I’m still working on producing the best sound quality, but I think that this comes with time and trial and error.

The strong, sensitive type
Here’s what’s weird. When plug my headphones into it, I can literally hear my daughter talking upstairs. I can hear my mouse dragging on my desk like it’s sandpaper. Yet, when I hit record, it doesn’t capture any of that. It’s magic.
