II. New CDL training requirements start soon

Very soon, new requirements for entry level CDL training will go into effect for the trucking industry. And like every change over the past few years, it’s generating questions and concerns.

III. State fuel tax relief

Eight states are pursuing some form of fuel tax relief, in part due to increased federal highway money, but also because of state budget surpluses.

IV. Stalled spending bills hold up highway money

Despite passage of the bipartisan infrastructure law, the financial spigot out of the nation’s capital isn’t on yet, due to some basic legislation that Congress has yet to pass.

What is the first phase of CDL training?

The goal for the first phase of training is simply to teach you the minimum necessary to pass the State exams and get your CDL. That will include some written exams on the materials contained in the CDL manual, a short driving test, a pre-trip inspection on a truck, and some backing maneuvers. That's it.

What happens after you get your CDL?

So after you get your CDL it's time to move onto the second phase of training where you'll go on the road with a trainer at your first company. And once again there are no minimum requirements for this phase of training so the main factor which shapes the way they handle training is competition.

Qualifying for your CDL

With your training complete, it’s time to obtain your CDL Class A License. As part of our program, we schedule the test and provide the truck for you to drive.

Our locations

We offer training at two locations – in Inver Grove Heights, MN, just southeast of the Twin Cities, and in Superior, WI. Superior is also home to our main terminal, which is on Lake Superior near the mouth of St. Louis Bay.
