What is modern day homesteading?

The whole idea of modern homesteading comes from people's desire to re-connect with their food source and live a more self-sufficient lifestyle. You don't have to own a big piece of land, or raise your own animals to be a homesteader. You must simply have a desire to live more simply!

Online Censorship

In January of 2022, I posted to Instagram and Facebook content that I share every year around this time on how much to plant per person for a year's worth of food.

Covid Treatment Plan

Due to the censorship I've recently experienced, I just figure this is the tip of the iceberg of what's to come. I don't believe we should be censored, especially when it comes to alternative remedies for health and healing (most notably from the current viruses going around).

The Divisiveness of COVID

Furthermore, one of the very sad realities of the past two years is that it's caused such division in our relationships to where someone apologized to me the other day when asking if I minded sharing whether or not my family and I have been vaccinated.

Our COVID Experience

Our family has decided not to get vaccinated due to the fact we are very healthy with no underlying health concerns.

Herbal Remedies

I need to say that I'm not a certified herbalist, but I have done extensive studies before sharing all my information in my courses.

My Encouragement

The first day we were hit with COVID we felt so horrible that I wouldn't have had the energy to put together my herbal remedies and protocols, so I was so glad I had that done and written out (including dosing information for different members of our family) which made using the protocol so easy.

Resources

Below you'll find all the links and resources mentioned in podcast episode #333.

Types of Seed

Before we discuss where to buy seeds, it's important to know the different types of seeds.

Why I Only Choose Heirloom Seeds

When you go to the store to purchase seeds or order seeds online you only have heirloom or hybrid seeds available to you.

How GMO Effects Pollination

The reason I bring this up is because of the way that crops pollinate. Especially when you have big agriculture, which is planting these GMO crops in huge fields. Corn, especially in the right conditions, can cross-pollinate up to two miles. Now that means that the conditions are just right…the land is flat, the wind is just right.

What is the Safe Seed Pledge?

The safe seed pledge is a voluntary pledge made by seed companies to not buy, produce or sell GMO seeds. If a seed company has signed the Safe Seed Pledge, it's a good bet they're a safe company to buy from.

Where To Buy Heirloom Seeds

Obviously, I'm an heirloom seed girl, but where do we get our heirloom seeds? These are the BEST places to buy heirloom seeds, in my humble opinion.
