Who is Michelle Smith?

MA, LMHCA – Clinical Associate Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate Michelle Smith, MA, LMHCA is a licensed mental health counselor associate who provides effective and evidence-based therapies for children ages 3-12 years old and collaborative and compassionate parenting support. Before transitioning to mental health, she worked as an educator and has over twenty years of experience working with children and their families. Michelle holds a master’s degree from the Teachers College, Columbia University and has taught early years through high school as well as adult education in public, independent and international schools in the United States, Kenya, South Korea and Singapore. While advocating for her student’s educational needs, Michelle realized how crucial mental health and well-being are for a child’s success in all aspects of life. This understanding inspired her to pursue a master’s degree from the University of Washington in Applied Child and Adolescent Psychology and to become a licensed mental health clinician and child therapist.
