Speak directly into the mic, 1-6 inches (2.54 - 15 cm) away for a more intimate voice sound with maximum rejection of off-axis sounds. Speaking closer to the microphone results in more bass response, similar to voices on a radio broadcast.

When connected to iPad via a USB-C cable, the MV7 will pass audio and gain can be adjusted. However, the MOTIV apps will only display ‘external mic’, and the settings screen will not be available. Shure recommends using another device to configure the settings before using with iPad Pro.
