When connected to iPad via a USB-C cable, the MV7 will pass audio and gain can be adjusted. However, the MOTIV apps will only display ‘external mic’, and the settings screen will not be available. Shure recommends using another device to configure the settings before using with iPad Pro.

Not too simplistic but simple
Went with the Shure because I wanted to take advantage of the software that allows you to control aspects of the mic such as compression/EQ but through simple settings in SW. The only thing I wasn't excited about was that I did not want to use a boom and the desk stands elevate the mic too high to keep it out of view for podcasting/video conf.
