The Command zone is a zone used for special objects which affect the game like permanents do, but are not actually permanents. This includes commanders, emblems, planes, phenomena and schemes.

Who is Josh Lee Kwai?

Josh Lee Kwai is a former movie trailer editor with over 15 years of experience in the entertainment industry. He has worked at Disney and Universal (among others) on properties like Star Wars, The Fast & Furious, The Avengers, and many more.

Is the command zone scripted?

First off, we don't script any of the gameplay. The interviews are obviously recorded after the game and, while not scripted, we do try to tocus towards whatever storylines emerged while we were playing. But honestly - how would you even script a full game of four people playing Commander?

Do you cast from the command zone?

A commander can be cast from the command zone for its normal costs, plus an additional two mana for each previous time it's been cast from the command zone this game. If your commander would be put into your library, hand, graveyard or exile from anywhere, you may return it to your command zone instead.

Why is it called Elder Dragon Highlander?

EDH owes its name to two essential components of every deck's construction. “Elder Dragon” refers to the original quintet of Elder Dragon Legends (Chromium, Arcades Sabboth, Palladia-Mors, Vaevictis Asmadi, and, of course, Kresh the Bloodbraided).

Can you permanently exile a Commander?

Players have access to their commander every game, and if they die or are exiled, they can instead place them back into the command zone. Recasting them takes two extra mana per revival, but their potential resurrections make them almost impossible to permanently eliminate.

Does Commander Ninjutsu have tax?

Activating Yuriko's commander ninjutsu ability isn't the same as casting Yuriko as a spell. You won't have to pay the commander tax to activate that ability, and activating that ability won't increase the commander tax to pay later.
